HealthCheck 4D
A new Android / iPhone app to monitor your 4D Server
Just updated your Android/iPhone App?
Updating to the latest version of the component provides better stability and optimization.
1.
One or more 4D Server v11, 4D Server v12 or 4D Server v13 databases.

HealthCheck 4D Component installed on each database you wish to monitor.
4.
The HealthCheck 4D (Lite or Pro) app on an internet accessable Android or iOS device. iOS v4.0 or above is recommended.
1.
Download the HealthCheck 4D component for your system.
2.
Quit/Exit your 4D Server.
3.
Install the HealthCheck4D.4dbase component in the Components
directory at the same level as your database structure.
Special note for "built server " installations - The structure can be found in the "Server Database"
directory within the "Server_Name Server.app" (Mac) or "Server_Name Server" directory (Windows)
4.
Install the HealthCheck4D.bundle plugin in the Plugins folder.
Special note for "built server" installation - An alias to or the plugin must be in a Plugins folder next to the structure.
This folder is not automatically created in the build process.

Ensure that 4D Internet Commands is installed in the plugins folder. This plugin can be found by
downloading from 4D Inc. or browsing to the plugins folder contained in the "HealthCheck 4D.4dbase".

Relaunch the 4D Server. You should see a HealthCheck 4D setup dialog appear on the server screen.

If the default settings are acceptable, no action is required.
(Default Listener port is 8080.)

If you are experiencing irregular or erratic connection issues between your mobile device and the server. Use the Sensitivity slider
to increase listener sensitivity. Decrease sensitivity to reduce server CPU load.

Click the lock button to set passwords for Lite and Pro connections. A Lite password is not required but is recommended.
Note that the Pro level password is also used to access the password setup screen.
*The default Pro level password is "admin"

Touch the
HealthCheck4D icon to launch. Click the
+ button to add a 4D Server.
3.
In the 4D Server Entry page, enter a server name to use for identification purposes.
Enter an IP address (or Domain name), port number and password matching the parameters in your 4D Server (see item 7, above).
4.
Touch the Check Connection button. A green checkmark verifies a connection
has been made to the server. Touch the Save button to exit and return to the 4D Server screen.

Touch the server name to initiate a connection. The 4D Server
page presents information regarding the server status.
6.
Touch the Hardware tab to view information regarding the server machine and attached drives.
Touch a drive to view a chart depicting drive utilization.
7.
Use the Refresh button to update the display. Touch the 4D Servers button to return to the home page.

App Features:
- Store one 4D Server on the Servers page.
- View 4D Server details such as:
- IP Address
- Version of 4D running on server
- 4D Server memory in use by the application
- 4D Data file size
- Length of time the 4D Server has been up and running
- Number of client connections (one or more stored procedures running on the server counts as 1 in the number of connected users)
- Total number of processes running on the server
- Status of the web server
- Date and Time of last backup
- Date and Time of next scheduled backup
- Date and Time of last Restore
- HealthCheck4D Component version current running
- View Hardware information of the 4D Server machine such as:
- Operating System
- Total installed memory
- Date and time of last reboot
- List of connected drives showing the total used and total free space for each
- Get all features of HC4D Lite plus...
- Entry of MULTIPLE 4D Servers to monitor.
- Quick-look" feature displays server information such as:
- Date and time of last backup
- Number of connected users
- Access the Tools tab to perform the following tasks:
- Initiate a Backup based on the currently configured 4D Server backup settings
- Check the date and time of last backup
- Initiate a “Verify Records and Indexes” and view the verification results based on the last verify executed
- Check the date and time of last verification of records and indexes
- Send a custom message to one or more connected clients
- Display connected client machine statistics such as:
- 4D Version
- Operating system
- Total time 4D has been running
- Total installed memory
- Memory used by 4D
- Memory used by all applications running
- Total free memory
- View individual table information such as:
- Table number
- Table name
- Number of records
